Glow sticks, hair dye in a can and the Spice Girls can only mean one thing… The 90’s are back with a bang! As I am old enough to remember it the first time, it’s funny how a trend, that was considered hideous at the time has made a full-blown come back with print, cuts and grunge.
Motel Rocks has taken us back to the era of Nirvana, teen spirit and bindi’s and given us a wearable collection that has iconic statements but is ideal for today’s generation. Indian inspiration mixed with tie-dye certainly reminded me of the pass looks I rocked but funny enough, I would wear them again. Dresses are short, Midi and long and come with Hindu inspiration, high necks and bodycon-ness that Motel does well. Staples such as fluff jumpers(remember them?) rose print dresses and tie-dye tops give the brand foundation and best sellers but more than anything, sets the tone for this new/old trend. These pieces are to be worn now and whenever you want to revisit the era that brought Britney, the re-birth of lava lamps and smily faces in Acid Yellow.
