The Golden Globes is always the catwalk of the stars and Fashionista’s, Gossip columnists and celeb junkies are always glued to their laptops and TV’s to see who wears what and what they get up to. In the past, some of the dresses that have graced that red carpet have been pretty debatable but this season, the stylists, makeup teams and hairstyles really pulled out the stops and made their clients look amazing. Among my favourites is the gorgeous and curvy Jennifer Lawrence in a red Dior Haute Couture strapless number, Lucy Liu in big floral Carolina Herrera gown and Jennifer Lopez (who has had some really dreadful red carpet looks) looking chic, glamorous and very feminine in this nude lace dress from Zuhair Murad Haute Couture.
There were definite trends coming from the evening, such as the classic fishtail cut on long gowns, all over lace and there were a fair few white gowns including Lea Michele’s very grown up and ‘old Hollywood’ look from Elie Saab. I think Lucy Liu stood out the most for a real striking look but I applaud Thandie Newton for wearing a short number as most others were wearing floor draggers.
