Jacob Kimmie – London Fashion week S/S 2012

Jacob Kimmie’s new collection was like unveiling the many sides of a Woman. From the Black vixen who oozes seduction to the traditional Virgin in her white wedding dress, Jacob wants to show us our inner-selves.  As well as strong statement pieces, the collection boasted beautiful 70’s style dresses with Dove or cloud prints, giving off an empowerment that all Women love to embrace. There was even a hint of a Homely feel translated by frill blouses and high waisted skirts. Even though an image of something wholesome as a housewife first jumps to mind, there was still an underlining naugtly-ness as the models were bra less through out the show.
Details as such, layered frills, netted skirts and muted prints, were the basis of Jacob’s pieces but they all showed that we sometimes dress to cover up the Woman inside, whether she be Naughty or nice. Luckily Jacob is around to seek both sides out.
