Sometimes I think I’m a dreadful excuse for a woman. I brush my hair only once a day, I pick off my nail vanish, I wear no makeup at least twice a week and I bite my nails… aaaagghhh!
Now it’s not like I want to be like this(wearing no makeup does feel great though), but it’s more a time issue for me and by that I mean, I don’t have any.
But surely I can’t be the only one running around out there, looking like an Amazon woman, rushing from place to place with wild hair and bitten nails… Well in case I’m not, here are some pretty cool beauty hacks that will make you feel like a new you and won’t take too long for you to act out either.
FEET (10-15 minutes)
Apart from when it’s summer, I bet we all neglect our feet at some point. As I wear sandals as soon as the weather gets warm(March), the skin on the bottom of my feet does tend to go a little hard and it can look a bit yuk. Luckily for me, Superdrug have created this handheld, battery powered foot file that is quick, easy and a great little travel companion too. With a quick hose down of your tootsies, choice what file you want(they change easily) and start buffering those feet. Your heels, balls of your feet and the bottom of your toes can be a great place to develop hard skin so make sure you do these areas properly. If you haven’t had this done in a while or ever, it may take you about 10 minutes to do both feet but if you repeat this every 2-3 weeks, it will only take you about 5 minutes each time and believe me, it is well worth doing.
Once you have got all the tough areas, rise off your feet, give them a wash with a scrub to get any loose skin (I love this Sugar Crush scrub from Soap and Glory). Once you have raised again and dried your feet, apply Superdrug’s intense foot cream moisturiser. Now I will admit it, I’m lazy when it comes to moisturising generally but this foot cream is just amazing! When I first tried the foot file and then applied this cream, my feet felt like a million dollars! They instantly looked fresh, felt nice and soft and I will definitely be repeating this little routine often for gorgeous looking feet, all year round.
It’s good to also add some colour to your feet and this gorgeous pink Faby nail vanish is great for giving your feet that instant beauty WOW.
FACE (10-15 minutes)
Looking after your mug(old English term for face), is very important. It’s the one part of your body that everyone sees and it sadly can reveal a lot about you without you even knowing.
Sleep and water are the two things I swear by for good skin but if your face needs a helping hand, these cool treats can help give you a new lease of life.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this amazing Sensio Spa Sonic facial cleanser. Easily charged with a discrete stand, it comes with a selection of brushes that will buff and renew your face in no time. It’s great to use with your regular face wash and it’s ideal for your morning beauty routine and doubles as a wake-up call too.
Once you have buffed your mosh (another dodgy English word), why not try out this Tinted Moisturizer and Cleanser Mousse from Elizabeth Grant available at Ideal World. I love duo foundations and this one is a great match for my dry face and ‘barely there’ makeup look. This cleanser is great too and by simply applying and then removing with cotton wool balls, it left my face feeling fresh and ready for anything.
HAIR (10 Minutes)
As I have very thick hair, it can sometimes be a nightmare to tame it, style and even dry it. It gets so knotty too but I have found some recent products that have saved my hair from looking like a total disaster! You may know this (or not) but towel drying can really damage your hair. When your hair is wet, it is in a vulnerable state so using a rouge towel to dry your hair can leave it feeling dried out and tired. Thankfully Aquis are on the scene and their towels are the best, bed-fellows for your wet hair. Created using super absorbent material, towels from Aquis are built to suck all the loose water out of your hair so you spend less time drying it with a hairdryer. I also found it left my hair feeling SUPER soft too and this product is a regularly used when I popped to the gym and when I need my hair to dry quickly.
Once my hair is towel dried, I then like to use my very handy, Blow-styling Tangle Teezer brush. I was really shocked to see how well it worked through any knots I had in my hair and it left my locks feeling tangle-free and even softer then norma. It comes in a two sizes but if you have a lot of hair or it’s thick, the bigger size is ideal for you and this brush has literally saved me from looking like I have been dragged through a bush backwards.
I hope that some of these quick beauty hacks will help you.
